Tik Tok is beta testing in Canada and the United States to allow crypto ads. This version will allow crypto advertisers to evade some procedures that must be done to advertise on the platform, through a regulatory entities specifically approved by Tik Tok.
If businesses register with these agencies, such as the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) they will be able to post crypto ads through the platform, adhering to certain restrictions, which will include an investment disclaimer stating that the ad is not financial advice and also an specification that they are for an audience over 18 years old.
At the moment, crypto companies can advertise but with many restrictions on organic ads on the platform, paid advertising is not allowed.
Currently in the United States, cryptocurrency trading platforms and advisory services are prohibited from advertising on the platform.
If the Beta program is successful, it would be a game-changer for crypto companies since Tik Tok is a source of inspiration for decision-making regarding the purchase of products and services. On top of this, it has been the most downloaded app for two years in a row and it counts with a huge and super engaged audience.
